Conference halls, exhibition space and accommodation on one site.

Flight, visa and accommodation detail is still being finalised. Everything confirmed so far is below. If you are booking international travel and need something that isn't here yet, write to us and we will help directly.

The venue

SREC26 takes place at the Martisoor Hotel in Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland. Conference sessions, the exhibition and the investment forum are all held at the same venue, so delegates staying at the hotel do not need to travel during the two days.

The hotel sits on State House Road, opposite the government ministries and close to the offices of international organisations in the city.

Conference facilities

The hotel has six conference halls, equipped with audio-visual equipment, LCD projectors, screens, flip charts, whiteboards and a PA system. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and common areas.

Accommodation on site

There are 75 rooms and suites, each with en-suite bathroom, satellite television, a work desk, wardrobe and private safe. The hotel also has two restaurants, two cafés, a terrace cafeteria, garden area, a resident lounge, gym, gift shop, room service and a 24-hour front desk. Top-floor rooms look out over the Nugaal valley.

Delegate room rates and booking arrangements will be published here once confirmed.

Getting to Garowe

Garowe International Airport (GGR) serves the city, with regional connections. The hotel is roughly a 15-minute drive from the airport. Detailed routing for delegates travelling from within Somalia, from East Africa, from the Gulf and from Europe will be published here.

Airport transfers

Transfer arrangements for delegates are being confirmed and will be listed here.

Visas

International delegates should confirm entry requirements well ahead of travel. Guidance, and supporting invitation letters where these are needed, will be available to registered delegates. If you need an invitation letter, register first and then contact us.

Paying for things in Garowe

Mobile money is used almost everywhere in Garowe, and many businesses do not take cash or cards. Delegates travelling from abroad should plan to pick up a local SIM on arrival so they can use a mobile payment app during their stay.
